Noosa Festival of Surfing - March 2019
The Noosa Festival of Surfing starts on Saturday 2nd March and goes through the week to finish on the following Sunday 10 March. The festival attracts surfers globally from varying age groups ranging from 15 to over 65 years to compete across several divisions plus even the dogs get to participate. Highlights this year include the World Surf League Longboard championship race for the first time since 2011 with a prize purse of $30,000.00. The popular PUP workshop which will be held on Saturday 2nd March at 7:30am at Noosa Woods Dog Beach and the Surfing Dog Championship takes place Sunday 3rd March, at 2pm at Noosa’s First Point.
Whilst the majority of surf heats are fully booked, you still have the opportunity to watch this exciting sport and there are plenty of on shore events to keep you occupied. These include surf music, surf workshops, exhibitions, heritage beach walks, beach yoga. In the evening there are parties with live music and films and they all take place either on the sand at First Point or around Noosa. This festival celebrates our unique environment by partnering with Plastic Free Noosa to produce a plastic free sustainable event.
