The Australian Body Art Festival 6th – 7th April 2019
This fabulous festival of colour and creativity attracts spectators and competitors from all over Australia, it has been evolving since local body painter Ria Clauss attended the 2007 Austrian World Body Art Festival and then launched the Australian Body Art Carnivale in Eumundi. In 2017 the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce took over the running of the event with much success that they won the Small Business Festival and Events category last year. The 2019 festival promises to be bigger and better with an “Other Worlds” theme. The competition categories range from face painting, body art with brush and sponge or airbrush to wearable art where competitors are encouraged to get creative and upcycle an existing garment. In addition to these fabulous competitions there will be music, street performers , public art projects and a kids zone so entertainment for all. Cooroy is a short 20 minute drive from Noosa and parking is available on the vacant land in Lower Mill Road and you can walk across the bridge to the festival site.
